Army jawan shoots himself to death

K Thangaswamy of 23 Mortar Regiment shot himself and died on the spot inside the army camp at Khanpora in Baramulla, 52 kms from here, a police official said.

The reason for taking the extreme step was not known immediately and inquest proceedings under relevant section of CrPC have been initiated by the police.
