The star studded evening was the first ever platform to celebrate entertainers from across diverse genres – theatre, sports, classical dance to the conventional mediums like television and Sandalwood.

The magical evening was hosted by the RJs of the radio channel. Later, music director Gurukiran and his team kept the audience entertained with catchy numbers like MTV subbalakshmi ge that pumped up the enthusiasm among the crowd.

As far as the awards were concerned, theatre artistes were the first to be honoured. In the category of the most entertaining theatre group, Ninasam won hands down.

Another award, which seemed long pending, was the most entertaining theatre personality. And B Jayashree was honoured with that title.

In the dance category, Sridhar and Anuradha Sridhar were bestowed with the award of entertainers in the field of classical dance.

Another category of awards that finds no place in conventional award functions was the most entertaining sports person.

Pankaj Advani, the billiards champ, was the chosen one. Accepting the award he said, “I think it is a great concept. I have won many awards for my accomplishments but not for entertainment. In these highly stressful times, people want to be entertained and as a sports person I am glad I can do it.”

The spectacular evening saw the presence of biggies from the Kannada film industry.
Upendra, Puneeth Rajkumar, Radhika Pandit and Mandya Ramesh, added extra oomph to the event.

Upendra while accepting the award for ‘Super’ as the most entertaining movie of the year, was humourously asked, “What he would pick - his scripts or his wife.” He replied,

“It would most definitely be the scripts. I am standing here only because of my writing.”
Among the other winners were Puneeth, who was declared the most entertaining hero of the year for his film ‘Jackie’ and Radhika Pandit, as the most entertaining heroine of the year (‘Krishnan Love Story’).

Upendra and Yograj Bhat shared the award for the most entertaining director of the year, for the movies ‘Super’ and Pancharangi respectively.

Television too had a host of awards with S P Balasubramanyam winning the most entertaining TV host of the year and the programme Yede Tumbhi Haaduvenu being declared as the most entertaining reality show of the year.
