This was the last santhe of this season and was quite colourful with DJs playing music throughout the day and a team led by Prasad Bidappa, entertaining the crowd with an interesting fashion show.

Conceptualised by Asha Rao, the ‘Sunday Soul Santhe’ was an effort to blend creative potential of artistes and designers in the City.

“We have a separate art corner, dedicated to children, where the parents can drop off their kids. We don’t have any problem with people bringing their pets into the Santhe premises. Next year, we hope to include a pet’s corner for the benefit of children who would like to play with puppies and other harmless animals,” says Asha Rao.

There were more than 150 stalls selling exclusive items from fashion jewellery, pottery, fabrics, designer saris, footwears, flower vases, paintings and home furnishing.

A fashion accessory shop by designer Swati Hinduja had a collection of jewellery made of silver and semi-precious stones.

“I have been displaying my collection at the Santhe from the time it was conceptualised. People start pouring in only early afternoon and hangout until late night with their family. So more than just a market, it is a perfect family outing”, says Swati Hinduja.

A stall by Kumari Karthik had ‘Toda’ embroidery bedspreads, table clothes — all hand woven by ‘Toda’ tribal community of Nilgiris.

“I have been participating in the Santhe for the last two years. We market fabric done by ‘Toda’ womenfolk. Our clothes are reasonably priced. The Santhe helped
us popularise the fabric among people,” said Kumari Karthik.
