The aircraft landed safely back to the airbase.
According to the PRO (Defence) S D Goswami, the MIG-27 took off from the Jodhpur airforce base at 4.45 pm on a routine training sortie. Immediately after taking off, the aircraft developed some technical fault.
Goswami said the pilot turned back the aircraft towards Jodhpur and landed safely at 4.47 pm to the air base.
An internal inquiry has been ordered by the air force to look into the matter.
