Shatrughan Sinha to host 'Ke Bani Crorepati'
Cine star of yesteryears and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha will anchor 'Ke Bani Crorepati', the Bhojpuri version of popular game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' and is confident of gaining popularity like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan who hosted it.
"I treat the new venture as a major challenge. But I will not try to imitate anybody while hosting it ... I will gain the popularity that my old friends Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan gained while hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati," Sinha told reporters here today.
Describing Big B as a friend during his struggle in filmdom, Sinha praised Amitabh for the way he had hosted the programme.
"Ke Bani Crorepati show will have a glimpse of the Hindi version hosted by Amitabh and Shahrukh... I am sure the Bhojpuri version will be equally popular among the viewers."
Sinha said he would be happy if Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, BJP leaders Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, former union minister Yahswant Sinha, his daughter actress Sonakshi, besides Salman Khan - her hero in Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabaang' participated in the programme.
He also demanded that Bhojpuri be included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
The programme will go on air from June 6 Monday to Friday at 9 pm on private channel Mahua TV. The producer is Siddhartha Basu and his production house BIG Synergy.
Mahua Media Private Limited chairman Nukhil Seth said Sinha, also known as 'Shot Gun' will perform both as participant and host of the game show.
The channel would soon be launching four new channels, which would include Mahua Music and Mahua Movie, he added.
