Explosion in Pak police station injures 8 personnel
An explosion today rocked a police station in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, injuring eight personnel, media reports said.
According to preliminary reports, the blast took place at the arms depot of the police station at Gulbahar locality of the city.
Witnesses said fire erupted in the upper portion of the two-storey building and later small blasts, believed to be caused due to explosives at the depot, were heard.
Police and private rescue teams arrived at the scene and transfered the injured policemen to local hospitals. Fire fighters were also called out to extinguish the blaze. TV footage showed tick smoke coming out of the building.
