Citrix Systems’ global challenge for tech entrepreneurs

Citrix Systems, on Wednesday, announced their 'Global Challenge', providing opportunity for tech entrepreneurs to win a seed fund upto $400,000 to take their ideas forward.

 Entrepreneurs from across the globe can apply for the competition till May 13 and will be called for final presentation and mentoring in June.

The final presentations will take place at Citrix’s regional centres at Bangalore, Boston, Cambridge, Sydney and Silicon valley. There will be six overall winners.

Part of Citrix Start Up initiative, it hopes to bring more innovation in application delivery and networking domains.

Citrix Senior Vice President & General Manager-Desktop Division Gordon Payne said it is aimed at helping young and innovative entrepreneurs to shape their ideas into products and take it to market.

“We provide not only the funds, but also mentoring and access to customers,” Payne said. “After 18 months of handholding and support, we hope the companies will be on their own, either taking off as stand alone companies or bought over by established players for the value their technology would bring.”  Part of the Citrix Start Up initiative, the programme hopes to bring more innovation in application delivery and networking domains are becoming the order of the day, said Vice President Citrix Labs & CTO Office Chair Martin Duursma.
