<p>His Doodh Peda looks have got him a place in many young girls’ hearts and the lover boy image is something Diganth has become comfortable with over the years. <br /><br />Despite doing many character roles in the past, it was after films like Manasare and Pancharangi that Diganth was seen in a different light. <br /><br />Diganth has made sure that he would accept only those roles that would showcase him differently. <br /><br />Getting such roles can be difficult but Diganth tells Metrolife that everytime he signs a film, the character pushes him to think outside the box. <br /><br />“Everytime I sit for a script reading, I only think how different the role is from my last film. Mainly, the kind of roles I have portrayed so far have been young and fresh,” he says. <br /><br />Currently working in Pavan’s Lifu Ishtene, Diganth will be seen in the role of a <br />devdas, who has lost his lady love. <br /><br />“I have known Pavan from the time he used to assist Yograj sir. So when he approached me for this role, I totally believed in him and the script. I love the way he works, he is very independent and different in his way of thinking, which I really like,” says Diganth, who hopes to work with other talented directors like Suri, Kaushik and Guruprasad, someday.<br /><br />‘Duplicate’ with Prajwal Devraj is another movie Diganth is excited about. Calling it a ‘free-make’ (a movie inspired by many stories), Diganth says that working with Prajwal was an experience he cannot forget.<br /><br /> “Prajwal and I met during Amrutha Mahotsava and we hit it off really well. And when we were approached for this film, I signed it immediately. I am so glad we didn’t have any ego issues and the director made sure that he gave us equally important roles in the movie,” he adds. <br /><br />Unlike many heroes, Diganth has never been deterred by the fact that he has not been able to do a mass movie. <br /><br />But he is happy that the ‘multiplex audience’ has appreciated his films so far. “It’s not like I don’t want to do mass movies. I am looking forward to doing a mass entertainer with loads of action but there is still time for that,” he says. Will the change in on-screen image affect his career? <br /><br />“Not really. It will be difficult to get the audience to accept me in those roles but with time, I am sure it will happen,” he signs off.</p>
