Kumaraswamy makes fresh allegations against Yeddyurappa

Last Updated 04 May 2011, 13:55 IST

Talking to reporters here, he alleged that the government had released Rs 9.37 crore to the contractor M/s BSR Infratech India Ltd on March 15 and another Rs 2.87 crore on March 22, though the work had not even begun.

The government had earmarked Rs 25 crore in the 2010-11 budget for the construction of Raitha Samparka Kendras (Farmer's Interaction Center) at 100 places in nine districts of Karnataka.

The JDS leader demanded an inquiry and action against M/s BSR Infratech India Ltd and officials of agriculture department, who were responsible for release of funds.
Kumaraswamy, who has been hurling allegations of corruption against Yedyurappa, challenged him to participate in the rally being organised by civil society members at Shimoga on May nine against corruption and offer his explanations over development works the government has initiated.

"The Chief Minister claims to have done a lot of development works in the state. I invite him to attend the rally and present what he has done. We will reveal the rampant corruption his government has indulged in. Let all this happen in the presence of pontiffs of mutts", he urged.

Responding to the allegations by Yeddyurappa that files pertaining to irregularities committed during Kumaraswamy’s tenure as Chief Minister were missing, he said "let the Chief Minister himself come and search our houses".
