CII for state land banks
New Delhi, May 17, (PTI):
Amid farmers’ protests against land acquisition, industry body CII on Tuesday, said the government should not give up its responsibility to acquire land for industrial development.
Suggesting the establishment of state land bank corporations, the CII said, “The state must play its critical role in acquiring land for industrial projects.”
It said that agglomerating land from numerous owners cannot be done by the corporate sector, especially in the absence of proper land records and with small, scattered land holdings.
