Two arrested for IPL betting

Police arrested two persons involved in a betting racket for the IPL tournament in the City and seized Rs 3,30,700 from them on Wednesday night.
Superintendent of Police Ramana Gupta told reporters on Thursday here that two mobile phones and a couple of two-wheelers were also recovered from the accused, Prabhakar, proprietor of Indian Hair Dressers on N T Road and Madan, a resident of Vinobha Nagar.
Police tipped off
Tipped off, the city police raided their premises during the IPL match. Five other accused, Chitresh, Mallikarjun, Imtiaz, Patil and Pranesh escaped.
The raid was conducted when the betting was on for the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.
