The company had flashed advertisements in various newspapers about the sale of sites and subsequently a large number of people invested money in the project.

However, the firm did not allot sites to anyone. Eventually, the site aspirants lodged complaints against the proprietors of the firm in various police stations.

Acting on the complaints, police put pressure on the company, which finally agreed to refund the entire amount.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari stated that the company had offered to refund the amount received by the investors.

Can complain

“The company has already refunded the deposits made by 15 persons. The members of the public in Bangalore City are hereby notified, that if any of them have deposited the money  seeking allotment of a site, they should directly approach The Country Club (India) and receive the refund money in the form of a Crossed Account Payee Draft in their favour. If they do not receive the refund, they may prefer a complaint in any one of the police stations in Bangalore City. The same will be registered and investigated,” Shankar Bidari said in the press release.

The City Police Commissioner has also advised the firm to refund the money of all the depositors who seek refund in the form of Crossed Account Payee Draft.
