The survey of 3,000 people found that the fairer sex would first settle for the security and comfort of a second home in Italy and, not to forget, a giant rock on their finger.
Men, however, would ditch sentimentality and the trappings of home life to buy a top-of-the-range car, a castle, a space flight and tickets for the FA Cup final.
As for what a woman would do if she won a multi-million-pound jackpot, the study by Euromillions revealed that their dream is a holiday home in Tuscany plus a diamond ring and necklace from Tiffany.
That’s not all. She would also splash out on a pair of £2,000 Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo shoes.
As far as men are concerned, they want a penthouse apartment in New York, an Aston Martin Vantage 8 and an iPhone 5 — while opting for the playboy lifestyle by owning a private jet, yacht or vineyard, the survey said.
A spokesperson for EuroMillions said: “The two lists are fascinating — women seem to love the idea of owning designer fashion items but have also included a few things to make their homes more stylish. “Men go straight for the transport and gadgets, wanting the very latest developments in technology and vehicles,” he added.
