Besides, two new Duronto trains for Mumbai and Ajmer have also been proposed among the 23 new train services to be launched by the railways in near future.

According to SK Budhalakoti, General Manager of Northern Railway, a new Shatabdi Express train for Ludhiana from New Delhi station will also be pressed into service shortly.

"The double decker train will be launched in the current financial year. Since it is a new kind of train, extensive trials are going on and after getting the clearance from the Commissioner Railway Safety we will announce the date," the GM said.

The Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jaipur AC double-decker train will have stoppages at Guragon and Delhi Cantonment stations. While the train will start from Jaipur at 6 am in the morning and reach Sarai Rohilla at 10.30 am, it will leave Sarai Rohilla at 5.35 pm and reach Jaipur at 10.05 pm daily.

The launch dates of 18 of the new trains, including the AC double-decker train, are yet to be announced. Budhalakoti claimed that most of these trains would definitely run before March 31 next.

The GM made the announcements after releasing All India Railway Time Table known as TRAINS AT A GLANCE (TAG). In the new time table, the Ministry of Railways has retained all the user-friendly features such as  how to read a table, route map, station index, trains between important stations,  station code index and train name index.

Also, the TAG will have five digit numbering scheme for train services that came into effect from December 20, 2010.  Colour coding scheme has been adopted for various categories of trains: (a) Pink for Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, Garib Rath Express and Duronto Express (b) Yellow for Double Decker services and other superfast trains (d) blue/white for other mail/Express trains.
