"I have allotted sites to only four of my relatives and not 10 as alleged. My sister had nothing left with her. She had lost her husband. Hence, I allotted her a site," he said while replying to questions by media in Bangalore.
The JD(S) had alleged that Yeddyurappa had allotted 10 sites of Mysore Urban Development Authority to his close relatives in the posh Vijayanagar Layout 3rd Stage in Mysore by throwing all rules to the winds. He also said he has directed Mysore Deputy Commissioner to submit a report on sites allotted under G category.
Reacting to Yeddyurappa’s statement, JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy said it is immaterial whether he (Yeddyurappa) allotted one site or 10 sites. He has violated the rule book in doing so, he alleged.
