The fine was imposed on Karnataka Tourism Minister G Janaradhana Reddy and Health Minister B Sreeramulu, also mining magnates, when they along with BJP Raichur MP Sanna Fakeerappa appeared before judicial magistrate Sarvamangala.

The magistrate imposed Rs 100 fine on the two ministers, against whom the court had issued warrants for appearance at least 35 times since 2007 in connection with murder of a JDS local leader.

Both the ministers and Fakeerappa filed an application praying for quashing of warrants issued against them.

The judge adjourned the hearing of the case to July 30.

Police had registered a case against 31 people in connection with the murder of Syed Majid in 2007. Majority of the accused have already appeared for the court on earlier occasions.
