Job fair will focus on pvt sector, says Moily
The job fair for the youth of Chikkaballapur, to be organised on July 16 and 17, will focus on the private sector, said Union Minister for Law and Justice, M Veerappa Moily.
Already over 12,000 job aspirants have registered - mostly online - to appear at the fair that will be conducted at the SJC Institute of Technology, Chikkaballapur and the number may go up, added the MP from Chikkaballapur, who came with the idea of the fair.
He told reporters on Monday that recruitment based on interviews would be made on the spot for different sectors such as manufacturing, retail, hospitality, automobile, IT, KPOs, BPOs, security, healthcare, construction, computer hardware and garments.
Over 75 companies have so far shown interest in conducting interviews and recruiting deserving candidates at the fair. Some among them are TCS, Suzlon, IFB, Caffe Coffee Day, Kanva, Club Mahindra, Karvy, Infantry Hotel, Share Khan, Indus Ind, Sparsh, Pizza Hut, ICICI, Mphases, TTK, KFC, HP, Life Style, Dabur, Videocon and Shoppers’ Stop.
The Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation, Alvas Education Society, SJC Institute etc would be the fair sponsors, Moily said. “After my tours to the constituency, I noticed that thousands of rural jobless youths were not exposed to the mainstreams of the fast-growing economy and the openings available in various industries. Hence the job fair”, he explained.
“The Udyoga Mela is totally cause- driven. We are committed to building a strong bridge between the corporate world and the job aspirants of the constituency”, he added.
