Rain gauge in all GPs
Revenue Minister Karunakara Reddy has said the Department of Revenue was planning to install at least one rain gauge in every gram panchayat to measure rainfall in the State.
Speaking to reporters, Reddy said the Government was planning to procure over 4,000 rain gauges to install them across the 5,400 gram panchayats in the State. Over a thousand of them have already been installed in various parts of the State, he added.
On the rainfall, he said the State had received above normal rainfall barring the three districts of Mandya, Mysore and Bidar.
However, he said, the forecast was that these areas would receive good rainfall in the days to come. He said though the average rainfall was 225 mm during this month an additional four per cent rainfall had been recorded so far this year.
