Suspected swine flu death in Nashik district
A 21-year-old woman is suspected to have died of swine flu at a civil hospital here this morning, health officials said.
According to Resident Medical Officer Dr Kishor Dange, the deceased, Nutan Khairnar, from Navi Bej in taluka Kalwan of Nashik district, was suffering from cold, fever, besides having breathing problems.
She was first admitted to a private nursing home at Satana and was later shifted to Malegaon 4 days ago.
Dr Dange said that symptoms of swine flu were present in her and samples have been sent for tests.
"Samples like throat-swab and others were taken and sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for further examination. It is only after a report that we will come to know whether it was a swine flu or not," Dange added.
