Book on labour management
Global workforce management solutions company — Kronos Inc, on Monday, launched ‘Lean Labor: a Survival Guide for Companies Facing Global Competion’, authored by Kronos Manufacturing Practice Group Senior Director Gregg Gordon.
The book, which was unveiled by Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited Deputy Managing Director (Commercial) Shekar Viswanathan, champions application of Lean principles to labour management. From minimising payroll errors, to scheduling effectively, to eliminating production losses, it includes case studies that demonstrate how manufacturers have successfully changed the way they use labour to reduce costs, shorten lead times and provide higher levels of service to their customers.
The book shows how the workforce can be a primary differentiation against growing global competion. “The book focuses on human dimension in the manufacturing process. It dwells on the challenges that the manager faces on the shop floor and is a must read for any industry manager facing competition,” Viswanathan said.
