The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has requested the Minister of Large and Medium Scale Industries to resolve the problem persisting the land acquisition by doing the needful to hand over 1,000 hectares of land to the Mangalore Special Economic Zone.

In a press release, KCCI President G G Mohandas Prabhu said: “There are hundreds of investors lined up and looking forward to set up their units in the area. As per the MoU signed between the Company and the State government, 1000 hectares of land should be made available for the work.”

He has stated that the MSEZ would generate employment to not less than 1,25,000 people and so it is necessary to allot the land for setting up of MSEZ and make MSEZ Ltd function as a General Purpose Multi Product Zone SEZ of Karnataka.

He has informed that the KCCI would make a presentation on the subject to justify their appeal before the Governor.
