Villagers seek protection from wild elephants in C'magalur

A delegation led by Grameena Jagritha Sene met Forest Conservator and informed him that four wild elephants are attacking the village for the past six months. Coffee worth lakhs of rupees, arecanut and banana plantations have been destroyed by these elephants.

The villagers said forest department has failed to initiate action against the wild elephant menace.

Chikmagalur Circle Forest Conservator Avathar Singh assured to conduct a survey and provide compensation for the loss at the earliest.
