Rains throw life out of gear

Heavy rain that lashed Kalasa, Mudigere threw normal life out of gear. River Bhadra is in spate in Samse. The uprooting of electric poles disrupted power supply in Kalasa the last two days.

A huge tree fell on Kalasa-Samse Road and disrupted movement of vehicles for two hours.  

Kalasa Hobli experienced more than 200 mm rainfall the last three days. All major water bodies in the district including Hemavathi, Chikkalla, Urubage halla, Japavathi   are in spate.

With rain, coupled with gusty wind, lashing the region, activities in coffee estates have come to standstill. Holiday was declared for labourers in the estate. 

A tree was uprooted and fell on Charmadi Ghat Road on NH 234 at Handpost and affected movement of vehicles. With uprooting of tree on Mudigere-Gendehalli-Belur Road, residents of Makonahalli, Nandipura, Ghattadahalli had tough time reaching their work place. Power supply to Gonibeedu, Bhairapura, Hoskere was disrupted throughout the day.
