Tulsi told to withdraw from case
The Supreme Court on Tuesday told senior advocate K T S Tulsi who at present represents CBI in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case to withdraw himself since he had earlier appeared for the Gujarat government in the matter.
A Bench of Justices Aftab Alam and R M Lodha put its suggestion before Tulsi who immediately withdrew from the case which had caused a lot of embarrassment to the Narendra Modi government.
“To be very honest with you, I do not think it is proper for you to appear in the case. You are a very senior member of the Bar. State government might not have objected on your appearance but it is not proper for you,” it told Tulsi.
Tulsi had earlier appeared for the Gujarat government in the case but withdrew following the BJP government’s justification of the killing of Sohrabuddin, by calling him a gangster and a LeT operative.
The CBI later hired him to appear for the investigating agency against the state government and former home minister Amit Shah.
