The Samiti had approached the High Court (writ petition 5713/2009) against leasing out of the tank to the mining company.
The Court, on April 11, 2011 passed an order prohibiting any activity including construction of buildings in the tank, the office-bearers of the Samiti said at a press meet here on Wednesday.
Recently, the Mines and Geology department imposed a penalty of Rs 123 crore on MSPL for alleged illegal mining in the said tank.
The Samiti members claimed that the alleged mining amounts to violation of court order and a contempt plea will be filed against the company.
