<p align="justify" class="title">A militant was killed in an encounter with Assam Rifles personnel in Chandel district bordering Myanmar on Wednesday, police said.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The encounter took place at Chamol village, about 18 km from Chakpikarong police station, at around 5 am. Additional forces have been rushed to the remote village, the police said.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The encounter comes barely two days after two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and six others were injured when militants exploded a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Man Mani village in the same district.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">In a statement emailed to the local media, the banned insurgent outfit Revolutionary Peoples Front (RPF) had claimed responsibility for Monday's attack. </p>
