'Don't sanction land'
Madikeri, July 30, DHNS:
MLC M C Nanaiah has urged the district administration not to sanction 50 cents land to Mandya Anna Santharpana Samithi who feeds the devotees during Talacauvery Theerthodbhava.
In a letter to Deputy Commissioner, he said the land should not be given to the committee. Several associations distribute coffee, meals to the devotees during Talacauvery Theerthodbhava. No organisations have asked for land so far. Talacauvery is a holy place.
The entry to Tala Cauvery after 6 pm has been banned. As it is a wild life sanctuary, no land should be given to an individual, Nanaiah added.
