Sameera has been constantly juggling different characters because she believes every actor needs to reinvent oneself at every point of time.

Ask her on what inspired her to do so and she says, “I have always believed that when I wake up and I don’t feel passion for what I do, then I may as well not do it. It was the same case with films also. I wanted to challenge myself with something new everyday and constantly reinvent myself.”

So be it a national award-winning film like Kalpurush to masala movies to even
documentaries, she has done it all. Doing different kinds of films is  important for Sameera but she says an actor cannot take this risk if he or she is not established. But she also feels, “If you start experimenting with roles right from the beginning, you will not have an image that the audience can relate to.”

Sameera is currently shooting for three movies, one of them being Prabhu Deva’s Vedi. Talking about her experience of working with the famous Prabhu Deva she says, “Working with him has been a great learning experience. All of us have known him as an amazing dancer. But after this film, what I have learnt is that he is a fantastic director. He is constantly innovating the shots. So even though we started off a scene in a certain way, we ended up with something better.”

Along with this film, she is busy shooting for two other movies, Tezz, a film by Priyadarshan and Tamil movie Vetai by Lingusamy. But shooting simultaneously has been very hectic as she plays three completely different roles in these movies. So how did she prepare for the roles?

“I have been shuttling between these sets. What makes it challenging is that each role is different from the other. In Vetai, I play a college girl who has a naughty side to her while in Vedi I am a traditional and very outspoken girl. Tezz will see me in a westernized action-oriented role. So when it comes to situations like this, I leave it all to the directors and how he wants my character in the movie to shape up.” But this actress doesn’t want to stop with movies alone and has plans to get into the corporate field someday. “I come from a business family. So the decision is intrinsic. Right now, I run an event management firm which I started along with a friend of mine. This is more like a part-time venture. After two or three years, I want to start my own business.”
