Conditional bail for Telgi
The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday granted conditional bail to stamp paper racket kingpin Abdul Kareem Lala Telgi considering his deteriorating health.
Telgi has to furnish two sureties of Rs two lakh each and appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation every month. He should not leave the State and has to surrender his passport. Justice Jagannathan directed that Telgi should be provided medical assistance till he is released on bail.
He has been directed to appear in other court cases against him in various other states.
Bar near temple
The High Court has directed the deputy commissioner of Mysore district to evict a bar adjacent to temple and school in Mysore City within eight weeks.
Sriranga, a resident of Sriramapura in Mysore had sought to evict the bar located within 100 meters of the school and the temple.
Counsel for the petitioners, A G Sridhar submitted that following the representation by the residents, the deputy commissioner himself visited the spot for an inspection. Justice Abdul Nazeer directed to take action according to law.
