The investigation agency has been directed to submit the inquiry report to the court on September 3.<br /><br />Datta, in his complaint, had stated that two companies were shortlisted for the Rs 500-crore UBP package-2. Kirloskar Brothers and Shankar, a joint venture company (JVC), quoted Rs 1,025 crore while RNS Infrastructure-Jyothi Limited quoted Rs 1,033 crore. The tender was awarded to RNS-Jyothi, which is blacklisted in Himachal Pradesh, Datta stated. The complaint also states that the government released Rs 130 crore even before work on the project began.<br /><br />According to the complaint, as a quid pro quo, Murudeshwar Company, a subsidiary of RNS group of companies, paid Rs 13 crore to Dhavalagiri Properties and Sahyadri Care and Diagnostics, owned by Yeddyurappa’s sons and son-in-law.<br /><br />HC defers hearing on ex-CM’s plea<br /><br />The High Court of Karnataka on Monday adjourned hearing of the petition filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, challenging the indictment by Lokayukta in its report on illegal mining. Senior counsel Ravi B Naik, representing Yeddyurappa, submitted that former Lokayukta Justice had adopted in toto the report of Dr U V Singh without any inquiry. He further submitted that Yeddyurappa in his tenure had not granted any mining permits or lease. The Division Bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath sought the report by Singh.</p>
