Tangy flavours on a platter

Whenever one feels like savouring a mix of flavours like sweet, salty, tangy and spicy, the first thing that comes to mind is chaats. If you try the tantalising, lip-smacking chaats offered by 'Sri Durga Chats Centre' located on Bugle Rock Road, near Gandhi Bazaar, you will know why people are addicted to chaats.

Rajeev, who runs this tiny shop, has more than 12 years of experience and brings an unparalleled taste to every item he prepares. His shop has loyal customers who admire the taste, quality and cleanliness of the shop.

Rajeev prepares South Indian chaats in authentic Chintamani style and the menu includes more than 25 items. One can also order for buttermilk, lime juice and jeera juice.

“I have been running this place for the last three years. And I have been getting very good response from my customers.

‘Sri Durga Chats’ opens at 1 pm and will be open till 10 pm. It is open on all the seven days of the week.The tempting aroma of chaats and masalas pulls in large crowd during the evenings. These customers mainly consists of students, office-goers returning from work and the shoppers.

The fast moving items include ‘R R Ghee Puri’, ‘Four-In-One’, an item made of four types of daals, along with sev, bundi and khara mixture. Even Boti Masala, floating Tikki Puri also have a lot of takers. Some other chaats items offered in the joint are Onion Masala, American Sweet Corn Masala, Ompudi Masala, Bun Gulkand, Nippat Masala, Soda Masala
and Congress Masala.

Rajeev also undertakes outdoor catering for all occasions. “Normally, we tell our children to avoid eating outside. But my son comes to this place usually four days in a week. And I don’t have any issues with this because the place is so clean and they prepare items in the most hygienic way. I like all the dishes but my favourite is Tikki Puri which has an
incredible taste.
