<p>Several volunteers, including students, senior citizens and from the private sector, gathered at the Yeswanthpur APMC yard for a mass cleanliness drive on Saturday. <br /><br />Local volunteers not only swept the market yard, but also cleared garbage on the adjoining roads and streets. <br /><br />Soon, even local residents joined in with the IAC volunteers in the cleanup operation. The volunteers were dressed in T-shirts with the message. <br /><br />“We are trying to draw a parallel between cleanliness at the local level and the need for cleanliness at the highest levels of government”, said S Hareesh, a volunteer. <br /><br />The cleanliness drive was followed by a bike rally. Kundan Singh, an IAC volunteer, said they would hold a bike rally from Basavangudi on August 15, hoist Tricolour at the Freedom Park, and also a protest on August 16.</p>
