Last Updated 16 August 2011, 19:25 IST

Venkatesh (32) and Chinnamma (30) were married five years ago. Though Venkatesh belonged to a wealthy family, he worked as a mason in the City.

Recently, Venkatesh’s father divided the property equally among his four sons, ignoring Venkatesh, the last among the siblings.

Later, Venkatesh learnt that he did not get a share in the property as he had no child. He returned home and picked up a fight with his wife, blaming her for his plight. He left home and returned late at night, only to find his wife hanging from the ceiling fan hook, police said. A shocked Venkatesh managed to lower Chinnamma’s body, but overcome by grief and fear, he hanged himself with the same veil his wife had used to kill herself, police said.
