Volunteers clean up after protests

The lawns, which are usually off limits, was trampled upon and littered with plastic. Security personnel could not do much to protect the lawns, with superiors from the government ordering the curator and senior security officer to make sure the gates are let open to all.

“When we get such an order then we a have to follow although our job gets difficult,” a senior security officer said.

But thankfully, IAC members volunteered to clean up the place and encouraged others to join in too.

Anirudh Prakash, who joined hands with volunteers of IAC, said: “It is an Indian thing to litter. But if we can’t ensure that do the cleaning, then what is the point of fighting against corruption.”

The lawns at Freedom Park were cleared up by evening.
