JOIN USThe actor was in town for a mass workout session organised by Diet Coke last evening, when he was faced with the cheeky request and it was no surprise that it was the male members of the audience who went crazy screaming for a look at his fabulous body.
Abraham, who is one of the Bollywood's first gay sex symbols, politely turned down the request saying, "Guys, that is just in the movies, otherwise I am real shy and what will I wear if I give you mine."
Instead, the actor gave away T-shirts to the crowd with his image on them, causing a mad rush as fans jumped and stepped over each other to grab the shirts being thrown into the crowd by Abraham.
The 36-year-old actor, who already has legions of female fans, seems to have won over the men too with his brawny good looks as they screamed for the star to strip off his T-shirt.
As the crowd chanted 'T-Shirt, T-Shirt', some young guys jumped the barricade begging the star to give them the shirt off his back.
From "Show Salman you are better than him" to "Dostane ki Jai Ho", the throng tried its best to get him to strip.
While there were some die-hard fans of Bipasha Basu too at the event who screamed 'We want Bipasha' it was Abraham who was on the mind of most of the thousand strong young crowd.
The star took the idol worship in his stride and announced that Delhi was one of his favourite cities.
"I am not saying this to be politically correct but Delhi is one of my favourite cities. I have been coming here since my modelling days and I have some good friends here. The city is known for its really pretty women and really tough men," said John Abraham while the crowd cheered wildly.
"I have a very simple fitness rule, healthy food, exercise and no drugs and alcohol," said the actor who is currently on a special fitness programme to help him lose the chiselled musculature he had worked up for his role in the gay comedy 'Dostana'.
"He is my idol, I would kill to get his T-shirt," said Abhinav Sood who had hoped to get Abraham's shirt but was over the moon that Abraham handed him a can of soft drink.
In 2008, John became the first Indian ever to feature in the '25 Sexiest Men' list compiled by E! News and was ranked as the 7th sexiest man in the world. In the same year, UK magazine Eastern Eye named Abraham the "Sexiest Man In Asia".
