‘Law will take its course’
As CBI arrested former Karnataka minister and mining mogul G Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law B Srinivasa Reddy in an illegal mining case, the Congress party said the law will take its own course and serve as a lesson to everyone.
“Whoever is involved, whichever the party he belongs to and whatever authority he holds, law will take its course,” Union Corporate Affairs Minister M Veerappa Moily told reporters outside Parliament.
“When you totally abuse the rule of law, this will happen... This is a lesson to whoever occupies the office of a minister or an officer that they should not misuse the office,” he said.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla echoed the view. “Law is taking its own course... the government does not interfere in the functioning of the CBI. We should have faith in the law,” he added.
