Legislator to work for better infra in hostels
Considering increase in number of students getting admission to the hostels, they would be equipped with basic infrastructure, said Legislator N Sampangi.
He was speaking to mediapersons after visiting Post-Matric Boys Hostel in the town on Thursday.
Most of the hostels lack basic facilities like building, drinking water, bathroom, toilets, and power.
He promised to bring this to the notice of the authorities concerned to provide and improve basic necessities in the hostels. He further said he would urge the Social Welfare Minister to release Rs 15 lakh as special grant for the purpose.
He inspected drinking water, kitchen, toilets and bathrooms in the hostel and asked the officers to ensure hygiene.
He was accompanied by Taluk Panchayat member Jayasimha Reddy, BCM Department In-charge Extension Officer Shivappa and supervisor Narayanswami.
