Rigorous imprisonment for ex-staffer of Survey of India
The Special Judge for CBI cases has convicted S Prakash Babu, former Assistant, Survey of India, Bangalore and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years with a fine of Rs 50,000 for producing a fake certificate to obtain the job.
A charge sheet against Babu and five others under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was filed. Speaking to Deccan Herald, CBI Inspector Hariharan said: “Babu had obtained a fake pre-university certificate to get his job with the Survey of India. We had information about the matter and when it was noticed, Babu resigned his job and went away.”
The investigation revealed that he had, in connivance with the other accused persons, prepared and obtained a forged certificate and got employment as Assistant in Survey of India.
