Hollywood stars India-bound

New Delhi, Sep 23, (PTI) :

Beginning with Paris Hilton as she lands on Indian shores tomorrow, international celebrities like Lady Gaga, 'James Bond' Daniel Craig and rock band Metallica are all set to woo the Asian subcontinent soon.

In her first visit to India, American hotel heiress Hilton will be spending a choc-a-bloc three days in Mumbai as she comes to launch her new line of handbags. A number of events are lined up for her after she arrives tomorrow morning.

Parties in her honour kick off tomorrow night and designer Rocky S will be styling her during her visit. She has already posed in a Tarun Tahiliani sari for the cover of a magazine in India and will reportedly be donning 'desi' outfits as she meets her fans, business partners and some Bollywood personalities during her stay here.

Hilton is reportedly going to stay at the JW Mariott and the hotel is making special cupcakes and cocktails for the special guest keeping in mind her favourite colour pink.

The 30-year-old model and reality star has cut short her trip by a day due to some prior commitments.

After Hilton stuns India with her diva-ish aura, pop sensation Lady Gaga will be hitting the national capital region in October end. She will perform during the closing ceremony of the country's first Formula One race in Greater Noida on October 30.

The 25-year-old 'Poker Face' hitmaker, who has already made her Indian television debut with Simi Garewal's chat show recently, will have her brush with Bollywood as she performs at restobar LAP Buddh Circuit co-owned by actor Arjun Rampal.

But two days before Gaga charms India, heavy metal band Metallica will headline F1 Rocks, the series of live and televised concerts staged alongside the Formula One Grand Prix races.

The metal giants will perform in India for the first time on October 28 and 30 in Delhi and Bangalore respectively.

A slightly longer wait it will be for India's meet cute with James Bond star Daniel Craig, as the English actor will land here with the entire cast and crew of the next 007 movie in February or March next year.

Directed by Sam Mendes, some scenes of the film, with the working title 'Bond 23', will be shot in Goa, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The I&B ministry has already given a go-ahead to the film's shooting.

The makers are in talks with the railway ministry to film some train stunts on certain tracks. Minister Dinesh Trivedi is reportedly trying to rope in Craig to promote Indian railways.
