Modi: Centre conspiring against Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Sep 25, (DHNS):

Chief Minister says UPA govt failed on all fronts

Claiming that the Centre was trying to destabilise his government,  Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took on the Manmohan Singh government over the corruption issue remarking that the prime minister had got `spoiled’ in the company of the Congress party.

Addressing a public rally on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, first time after the Supreme court refused to pass any order in a riots case, Modi said that the UPA government had failed on all fronts.

"When Manmohan Singh became the Prime Minister, he was a good person, we did not say anything against him.

“But, because of he being with the Congress, he has got spoiled; and if people like Manmohan Singh get spoiled by the rot in the Congress, then we need to remove that rot," he said.

In election mode

Going into an election mode he announced that ‘six crore Gujaratis will give a befitting reply to his detractors.

Modi claimed that in the last several years the Congress led United Progressive Alliance  was targeting his government and doing injustice to the state.

“The Centre cannot tolerate the kind of development and progress we have made and that is why attempts are being made to target us,” he announced.

Choosing to avoid a direct reference to the Lokayukta issue, given that it was sub judice, Modi alleged that  Raj Bhavan had been turned into a ‘Congress bhavan’.

“In fact whenever I attend the CM’s meeting in Delhi, I tell other fellow CMs that in every state where we have a BJP government the Centre is trying to use the Governor’s house to destabilise it,” Modi alleged.

Gujarat centric

Unlike during the sadbhavna mission prorgamme, his speech was on Sunday delivered mostly in Gujarat centric indicating that he was targeting his electoral constituency in the state.

He attacked the opposition Congress for what he alleged was spreading lies about his government and defaming the state.
