Halebeedu temple witnesses good tourist turnover
The historical Hoysaleshwara temple which had seen very less visitors since a couple of months witnessed good tourists turnover on Friday as soon as the Dasara festival was over.
The tourists who had camped at Mysore to witness the world famous ‘Jamboo savaari’ on Thursday visited the Halebeedu temple, which is one of the popular tourist destination in the district.
As the schools had been closed in view of Ayudha puja and Vijayadashami celebrations, the tourists are making use of the holidays.
The traders selling photographs and other items say the tourists are less when compared to Dasara holidays four years ago.
The floating population comprising mostly of tourists are dipping steadily every year. There were literally no tourist before dasara began and now the crowd is moderate, they opined.
Parking problem
Months have passed since the gravel has been dumped on the road near the temple and has not seen asphaltation.
The vehicle users are finding it difficult to drive and park their vehicles on the road.
The gravel laid road proceeds up to temple and the devotees too are struggling to walk to the temple and the officials are turning a blind eye towards the issue.
There is no water supply to the toilets and since there was a sudden rush of tourists, the person maintaining the toilet had to bring water in pots. As there were filters installed at the parks there was no drinking water problem.
But the Jain temple at the vicinity surrounded by garden has no drinking water facility. While the gardener waters the garden the visitors have to walk to Dwarasamudra lake bund to quench their thirst.
