Beyond the mundane
VIVID SHADES
Atmosphere, a store on Vittal Mallya Road, has elevated bed linen to an art by itself. The store, that was dedicated to upholstery when it started, has now branched out into bed linen as well.
At Atmosphere, bed linen assumes a character of its own. Their line of high end, luxury bed linen was launched amidst a select group of friends and well-wishers in the City recently.
A leading name in home furnishing, Atmosphere has its signature range of premium 100 per cent cotton bed linen on offer. It has its stores in 15 Indian and international locations.
The brand always strives for originality in every product. The manufacturing processes ensure stringent quality control at every stage, from selecting the best yarn to the finish product. The latest line of bed linen is a fine balance of colours, textures and embellishments.
The palette is based on the psychology of colour. The collection comes in soothing colours such as white, ivory and neutral pastels with an accent on stronger hues like blue, peppermint green, charcoal black and bright pink. The products are then bio-polished for a luxurious finish.
“The linens come in satin, silver and gold weaves. The palette colours are kept light. All our fabrics are woven and we don’t use too many prints. Woven fabrics are a part of our culture and we would like to keep that alive,” explains Akanksha Himatsingka, Director, Himatsingka Wovens.
Himatsingka Wovens owns Atmosphere which is a part of the Himatsingka Group.
At Atmosphere, every fabric has a story to tell. Using the Jacquard loom, they create ornate motifs with ease.
The varieties at the store include ‘Allesia’ embroidered and ‘Florence’ Jacquard sheets from the ‘Gold Collection’, the ‘fiore’ Jacquard duvet set, ‘Allure’ Jacquard duvet set, ‘Fresco’ Jacquard duvet set and the ‘Siena’ sheets and pillowcases in satin weave to mention a few.
Delving into the making of the bed linens, Bharat Ram, Vice-President, Retail, Himatsingka Wovens Pvt Ltd, says that the brand doesn’t compromise on style and quality. “The art of making the beds is not popular in India. In India, you would just find a sheet with two pillow covers. However, our bed linens are complete with a top sheet, bottom sheets and four pillow covers,” Bharat explains.
