Last Updated 15 October 2011, 19:26 IST

The objective of the camps is to create awareness among forest dwellers on their rights.
The camps, to be conducted in association with Social, Tribal Welfare departments and Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI), will educate the tribals on their rights, forest produce and development of family settlements.

Awareness camps

Task Force chairman Ananth Hegde Ashisar said at a press meet here that such camps were held in Dandeli, Yellapur and Chippagere in Uttara Kannada district earlier.
A similar camp will also be held in Bandipur, next month to create awareness on Project Tiger.

Ashisar said that the Task Force would recommend to the government to frame laws on the lines of international conservation rules to avoid the Unesco’s Heritage tag proposed by the Centre.
