Drama on the bus
He thanked the conductor for allowing him to travel one stop for free.
We have all travelled by bus many times in our life. Some of us are daily commuters and some travel occasionally. Though this may sound boring, just to sit in a bus and look out of the window, there are so many things happening inside the bus. All one has to do is keep his/her eyes and ears open and they are sure to find something interesting to watch during the long journey.
As for me, I use the bus everyday and travel about 5 km. Once, when I was returning home on a Saturday afternoon, a man who was probably a senior citizen, boarded the bus. The conductor wanted to check if he was a senior citizen before giving a ticket discount. So she asked him to produce the identity card. At this, the man immediately stood up and started shouting at the conductor because she did not realise that he was senior citizen. All he had to do was produce the card which he did later on after a lot of patience from the conductor. But he wasn’t the politest of men and chose to argue instead of producing the card in the first place.
In another incident, a man who was obviously drunk and had no money on him, staggered onto the bus. When the conductor came to issue the tickets, he searched for a very long time in all his pockets. The public buses aren’t places of charity and soon the conductor lost his patience and asked the drunkard to get off the bus. To this, the man just walked to the door and with a lot of effort jumped off the bus. He then thanked the conductor for allowing him to travel for one stop free.
Now isn’t that a great idea to come across in that intoxicated state of mind.
One more incident was involving a daily bus pass. A woman had not signed (which is compulsory) on the pass she had obtained. The conductor politely asked her to put her signature if she wanted to travel on that bus. But she flatly refused to sign. She said that a signature was not necessary. The conductor explained to her that it was, but she was adamant. She started using abusive language. Immediately, the conductor asked her to get off the bus which she did, cursing and complaining. How difficult is it to just sign on the pass? From energy saving people to drunk geniuses to short tempered travellers, you can see them all. So next time stay awake and watch the fun.
