<p>VIMS Director Dr B Devanand said following her arrest by the CID officials on October 26, for her alleged involvement in the scandal, Vanaja, a doctor with the VIMS, has been suspended. Vanaja has been lodged at the Bellary Central Jail, along with the couple’s 9-month-old baby. <br /><br />Meanwhile, Dr Vinayak Prasanna, who is in the CID custody, was taken to Bangalore for interrogation on Thursday.<br /><br />Bail rejected<br />The bail applications of the 12 accused in the scam, has been rejected by a local court on Friday. <br /><br />The applications for the bail had been filed on October 24. Judicial Magistrate First Class Judge M B Kulkarni rejected the applications, when the matter came up for hearing in the afternoon.<br /><br />Apart from the 12 accused, the judge had already rejected the bail pleas of five others involved in the scam on October 24.<br /><br /></p>
