Graft in job scheme: Criminal cases against three

The Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer has directed that criminal cases be registered against three persons for alleged irregularities in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Challakere taluk.
Action has been directed against Chowdappa, presidsent of Chowlur Gram Panchayat; H Linganna, a Panchayat Development Officer and B V Ajjaiah, a junior engineer.
The PDO and the engineer have already been suspended, CEO Jayaram N has said. The officer said irregularities have been detected in construction of roads and drain in Chowlur Gram Panchayat limits.
