The committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary K Jairaj in its 316-page report has attached two annexures to its interim report.

Annexure A contains a list of seven officers belonging to All India Services. In view of specific charges in the Lokayukta report against the said officers, the Committee has opined that appropriate disciplinary action be initiated against the officers.

With regard to former deputy conservator of forests, the committee recommends that strict disciplinary action is warranted, as he has caused pecuniary losses of Rs 1.91 crore and Rs 13.53 crore to the State government. “This is besides undue favour and abuse of office,” the committee states.

In Annexure ‘B’, the committee has listed the names of two IAS officers S N Jayaram and Jawaid Akhtar, who had served as deputy commissioners of Bellary.

The report states that after its discussions with the Revenue department, no explicit failure or negligence has been ascertained. “The action of the officers was in normal course of duty,” the report adds.
