Many of them are already in their native place with their family. Some of them have gone on long trips with their friends. The studious ones have joined additional courses that would support their curriculum.

Aatish Agarwal, a final year BCA student, is enjoying his holidays at Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand where his father runs a business. “I took a train to Jharkhand the day my final exam was over. It was just before Deepavali. After two years, I got a chance to celebrate the festival with my family. Since then, I have been helping my father with the family business — maintaining accounts, overlooking purchases and sales. I have been taking my mother out for shopping and have been spending a lot of time with her. I also hosted a get-together for my school friends,” says an elated Aatish.

As the college will be reopening in the first week of December, he wants want to spend the rest of the holidays in a meaningful manner. “I don’t know how days have passed. I will be going to Jammu and Kashmir for a trip,” he says. Some students like Ajay have been doing internship with software companies to get a hands-on experience of the field.
“This is not an official internship. My cousin designs websites and programmes for his clients. He owns a small venture. I have been working with him for the last one month.
As we have to do a project in our final semester, it is helping me a lot. That apart, I have been watching movies, going on trips and spending time with family members,” Ajay says.

Archana Subramanya, a student from Chattisgarh, feels that she had enough of holidays and is waiting for her classes to resume. “I was happy to come to Chattisgarh during this vacation. However after a few days, I started missing my academic routine. I have been discussing my future plans with my parents. I will be in the final semester and will have so many responsibilities,” she says. “I have to prepare for my project. The placement activities will also start soon and I need to be prepared for that as well. I am looking forward to the reopening of my college. I can relax only after completing my final semester exams. Though I had a month-long vacation, my mind has not been completely free of academics,” Archana says.
