Man attacks wife over bitter home truths

He slit her wrist with a blade in a bid to kill her, but the woman survived and is battling for her life at a hospital in Meerut. Rajesh has been arrested on charges of attempt to murder. The couple has two children.

Police said, Rajesh, on Tuesday, asked his wife to tell him everything about her, “whether she had affairs with anyone before their  marriage...whether he was the real father of the children...” The questions were asked in the same way as they are asked in the show.

“He had assured his wife that he would take everything in true spirit,” said SP, Meerut (Rural) Sharad Sachan while speaking to Deccan Herald. Rajesh, however, became angry when Asha said that she had an affair with another man before her marriage and attacked her with a blade.

“I could not withstand the truth,” Rajesh reportedly told the police during interrogation. Pradeep, Rajesh’s brother-in-law said that Rajesh had started behaving in a strange manner after he had seen the show Sach ka Samna. “He used to say that he also wanted to know about Asha’s past,” Pradeep said.

This incidentally is the second incident in which a family had been ruined by the reality show. Barely a few days back, a man, in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, had committed suicide after he was told by his wife that she had physical relations with another man before their marriage.
