Rs 11 lakh seized

An amount of Rs 11 lakh has been seized from a person, while he was transporting it in a car without any valid documents from Bellary, at the checkpost near Sindhuvala village in the taluk on Wednesday evening.
The seizure comes against the backdrop of the November 30 bypoll to the Bellary Rural Assembly constituency. Naresh, hailing from Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh, said he was transporting the money for business purpose. The police said Naresh has been asked to produce the relevant documents.
A case has been registered at the Moka police station. The seized money has been handed over to the Income Tax department.
